Shared or Contributed Rakeback?
When looking for a rakeback deal for FullFilt, you have to consider many things. One thing to consider is how the potential poker room calculates rake. There are two main ways a poker room will calculate how much rake you have contributed to a pot. These are the contributed rake and shared rake methods. It is also important to remember the more you rake the more rakeback you will receive from the poker room or rakeback provider.
The main differences between contributed rake and shared rake is the way that poker room figures out how much of a particular pot’s rake was your share. This is important to know if you have a rakeback deal or looking for a rakeback deal as this will directly affect how much rakeback you will be entitled.
Contributed Rake
Contributed rake is calculated by how much you actually put into a pot. For example, if you had taken the flop, played through the turn and then folded up shop on the river, then you have contributed something to the pot. The hand plays through to the river, where your opposition put $50 into the pot, compared to the $10 you have placed into the pot. Your share of the pot, from a rake calculation is 20%, since 20% of the money in the pot came from you. So say this was a standard poker room where they take 5% of the pot as rake. The total rake from the pot would be $2.50, and you would have contributed to 20% of this, which amounts to .50c.
Shared Rake
Shared rake uses a different method to calculate how much rake you have contributed to a specific pot. If you have been dealt a hand, then you have contributed to the rake in the pot under the shared method. Even if you have not actually put any of your own money into the pot, you still get a share of the rake credited to you. For example, if there was five players dealt a hand (where you are one of these players) then 20% of that pots rake belongs to you. So say you fold pre-flop but were dealt cards and the pot reaches $50, which £2.50 is taken in rake. With the shared rake method, this would mean you contributed .50c.
Generally, if you are looser than the average poker player on Full Titl Poker the contributed rake method is the ideal rakeback program to choose. If you are a tighter player, then you benefit most from the shared rake method. If you have any other questions on what is rakeback, please visit our information page.
